A George III Grenadier Company officer's sword of the 53rd Regiment of Foot (King's Shropshire Light Infantry), with 31.5 inch curved blade, with chequer hardwood grip, lion head pommel and knuckle bow incorporating the cipher GR and 53, the guards with flaming grenade mounts, gilt mount black leather scabbard inscribed Prosser, Late Cullum, Sword Cutler to the King and HRH Duke of York Charing Cross

Scabbard does have a split on both sides, some missing stitchers. There are areas of wear and scuffing all over and the top locket or mount is loose.
The hardwood grip is cracked, the knuckle bow and pommel are slightly loose, blade has areas of rusting and deterioration. Overall a decent sword, in very average condition.
