James Gowland of London, a rare mid 19th century giant gilt bronze single fuseé carriage timepiece, the circular silver dial signed Jas. Gowland, 52 London Wall, within a foliate engraved mask, the single fusee movement with lever escapement, the backplate similarly signed to the dial, 22cm high to handle

Condition:
The lever escapement sticks when tilted but does go for a few seconds indicating that the spring is intact. The gilding to the case is largely intact, there is some wear to the backplate where the movement has been wound etc. Probably requires an overhaul.
