A pair of Barcelona chairs, width 75cm, depth 76cm, height 74cm Provenance: The two Barcelona Chairs were located in the main reception of the renowned Richard Seifert & Partners architects at their Head Office in Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2. Originally acquired for the previous office in Red Lion Square and purchased from Knoll International. I joined Seiferts in 1987 and the chairs were in the reception area of the Shaftsbury Avenue offices and had been in the first office probably in the late 1970s/early 80’s.
The vendor was a Director of the Practice and purchased the chairs when the Practice was downsizing to new premises and can confirm they were the original reception chairs as described above.

Condition:
Yes, they are leather but showing signs of wear from use. One cushion has a tape repair and has lost an attachment strap. The frame has a repaired back strap. The other has a split to the seat cushion, front right and has lost both fixing straps. The frame has two repaired back straps . In need of a degree of restoration. The metal frames have areas of wear and pitting and have lost the feet pads.
