Condition:
Oil on canvas relined within the past 10 to 20 years or so, canvas remains tight, paint looks rather dirty with a patch of crackling damage in the sky between the trumpeting elephant and the lioness's head, otherwise looks to be in fair order, housed in the original gilt gesso frame which has numerous losses, an old hand inscribed label on the stretcher relating to the work.
