Condition:
Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas is now a little saggy with stretcher marks showing along with various creases running in from the sides and a fairly raised craquelure running throughout most of the paint but most notably in the darker areas, one or two small dents and knocks including a small hole near the bottom right corner, very dirty, a good clean should reveal significantly more details and features, housed in a period gilt gesso frame which is now rather dry and starting to separate at the corners, no labels or inscriptions verso. The frame is a 19th century giltwood and composition example with some shrinkage cracks and small losses. Provenance: from a local estate
