A pair of Chinese famille rose fencai inscribed vases, mid 19th century, each well painted with scholars and attendants in a landscape scene with pavilions, rocks and a junk boat on a river, inscribed to the neck with a ten column poem, pseudo Hongwu iron red seal mark to base, 45cm high, cracks to neck of one vase
£1,000-1,500

Condition:
Both vases with some wear to the gilding around the rims. One of the vases has a small splinter chip to the rim which has been re-glued and some associated hairline cracks to the glaze around the neck. On close examination these fine cracks do not appear to go all the way through to the inside of the neck and adjust on the glaze on the exterior, otherwise in good condition.
