£400-600
Condition:
Taller figure right hand and forearm professionally re-attached; rubs at her right nipple and just beneath; shorter figure small section of vine leaf professionally re-attached at the side of her head; her left big-toe re-attached; the circular foot of the chalice she holds restored; side of mound base restored in two sections. Unsigned. Circular socket plinth also repaired, approx. 10 x 2cm. This circular socle plinth is the same material (alabaster) as the fluted columnar pedestal, no doubt united at the same time, a paler alabaster with darker veins. Pedestal constructed in three sections, centre section with repairs at top; due to it’s sectional construction, it wobbles although structurally safe, solid and fit for purpose. Age of Bacchanalian group second half of 19th century; pedestal probably early 20th century.
