A good Chinese coral ‘fruit and bats’ pendant, 19th century, carved in high relief and open work with two bats amid peaches, finger citron, and pomegranate with leaves, tendrils and lingzhi fungus,

Provenance- from the collection of the vendor’s late father who collected Chinese works of art in Hong Kong from 1950 to the 1970s. He lived in Shanghai from 1947-48 and became a successful businessman living and working in Hong Kong from 1949 until his death in 1994. 3.7cm, later suspension stand

Condition:
There are natural inclusions to the coral. Good condition. Weight of coral 27g. In good condition with no restoration, chips or cracks, the wood stand is later and the pendant does overbalance when it’s suspended from the furthest scroll of the stand.
