Lot 585 , A silver-mounted violin bow, unsigned, 29in.
A silver-mounted violin bow, unsigned, 29in.
Estimate £200-300
The frog has some flaking to the edge of the ebony at the top on each side, there is also a split to the ebony part of the frog where it lays against the stem, the mother of pearl inset on the bottom of the frog is missing, there is some scratching to the silver retaining nut and when it is unscrewed the thread is a little rusty, obviously lacking string, but the stem of the bow is in good condition, total weight is 53.6 grams.
We believe this to be a violin bow as catalogued.
