Very dirty, stretcher mark visible on right and left, slight bruise of craquelure above the horse's head, not checked under blue lamp, no provenance.

This lot is painted onto an oldish canvas, it looks to date from circa 1900. I have reservations however about the age of the paint. The style doesn't feel quite right to me so I would suspect that it has been overpainted in the mid to late 20th century. Very dirty - nicotine stained, it will clean up to be very bright and colourful.
