Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint and varnish very dirty with slight stretcher mark showing at the top and otherwise scattered dirt marks throughout, some fine craquelure which is starting to lift in both the varnish and paint particularly in the dense parts of the trees, also some light denting from the reverse which is coming through by the tree trunk by the left, other small areas of craquelure and minor dents and knocks notably in the rocks and water to the right beneath the wicker weir, housed in probably the original gilt frame, no labels or inscriptions verso.
