A good Chinese export ivory and silk fan, late 19th century, with original lacquer box, the ivory guards carved in high relief with figures amid pavilions and trees and flowers, the silk leaf finely embroidered with birds and butterflies amid flowers, Fan 33cm, box 41.2cm

The ivory guards and plain sticks are in good condition with no chips cracks or losses, the embroidered silk fan leaf is in good condition with very slight creasing in areas, the cords of the silk tassle are a little bit grubby, the silk covered cardboard lining for fitting the fan in the box is broken at 1 end, and the gilt lacquered box has a few flakes and losses around the edges and particularly on the bototm side edge on one side there is quite a number of losses to the lacquer.
