Lot 428 , A pair of Edwardian marquetry inlaid rosewood display pedestals, W.1ft D.1ft H.3ft 11in.
A pair of Edwardian marquetry inlaid rosewood display pedestals, with bevelled glazed sides, W.1ft D.1ft H.3ft 11in.
Estimate £300-400
No.1 - some slight water damage to one corner of the top which will be easily repaired, tiny chips of veneer missing at three of the four top corners and further other small dents and nicks running throughout the piece, none of any great significance, a repolish would be required to give these a perfect appearance, marquetry and stringing in good order, all glazing in good order, one key operates both doors, base plinth again with minor nicks and scuffing commensurate with use but will be fine with a repolish.
No.2 - top in better condition, again a few tiny nicks around the edges and small nicks and scuffs throughout the piece but again all of very minor nature and would be sorted by a gentle repolish, glass all in good order, both cabinet inside have a faded blue velvet which may be original, overall both of these pedestals are in very good condition but for the need of a some light repolishing, finish to the same standard all around so made to be freestanding.
Dimension of bases 13 x 13 inches.
Height of base plinth 4.75 inches.
