Oil on old wooden panel . Age looks correct for artist as does quality of work. Paint not varnished and has 1 or 2 light surface scratches. Small areas of board which have not been painted but left as background. Pencil uppercase signature Dorothea Sharp is applied in lower left corner. Frame is fairly modern grey one. Back of board is as interesting if not more so, being painted with the image of a lady reclining in a rowing boat, this looks to be the right hand but again is unsigned and has the appearance of being a sketch rather than a finished work. Come for sale from a private couple who always believed the work to be by Dorothea Sharp.
