A Staunton club size ivory chess set, by Jaques, London, circa 1900-10, white king stamped Jaques London, rooks and knights stamped with a crown, in fitted mahogany box please see extra photos on our website

Reds - one or two tiny patches through the staining showing the white colour beneath and one or two small dirt marks but overall very good condition. Tiny ball finial to the tip of the cross on the king is missing.
Cream or white - very good condition, fairly even buttery cream ivory colour showing slightly darker in patches on some of the pieces but otherwise excellent condition.
Box looks to be the original with crushed velvet inside the lid, gilt loop handles to the top tray with blue velvet lining, tabbed blue silk handles to the lower tray along with blue velvet lining, box a little scuffed to the outside with two cracks running across the lid and no key.
Castles stamped with crown mark. 1 castle and 1 knight stamped with crown mark.
