A Japanese ivory model of a partially peeled banana, early 20th century, 4.5cm, unsigned, re-glued section to tip
Estimate £100-150

The quality of the carving, the patination and fine age cracks to the ivory indicate this carving dates before 1930.
The stalk of the banana has been re-stuck with old orange glue around the area, there is probably a loss to one end of the peeled 'skin'.
