A Chinese export ivory etui case, c.1800, of canted rectangular section, carved in high relief with figures amid pavilions and trees, the hinged cover with the monogram 'JE', 12cm., slight losses

The hinged cover has been restuck at the joints, there is a crack on the base section where the hinge is pinned in, there is a glue repair to one of the corner chamfers running half the height of the etui, there are some losses to the ivory on the bottom corners of the etui and some of the ivory panels are bowed outward slightly at this point, the bottom panel has also been re-glued in.
