° A group of sixty-five leaves from a dispersed Qur’an miniature manuscript, Ottoman, late 17th/early 18th century, written in black naskh on paper, within blue and gold rules, with gilt verse markers, comprising passages from multiple surahs, including al-Fath and al-Shura, including a number of reconstructed composite leaves formed from horizontal strips of the original manuscript, some leaves with later devotional additions, many fragmentary, in overall varied condition, later mounted. The album leaves 120 x 88mm., the largest pastedown text sheet, 115 x 80mm. Bookplate of Thomas Henry Spurrier (1810-1849) of Edgbaston, solicitor, an antiquary and numismatist, elected to the Numismatic Society in 1837:
