Condition:
Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint a little dirty with some small patchy losses of varnish near 12 o'clock and near his lips, a very fine but stable craquelure visible in parts, housed in an overpainted period giltwood frame with later title and attribution plaque, Christie's stencil number NB43S on the stretcher.
