An early 20th century Chinese blue satin silk embroidered dragon robe, embroidered with five claw dragon symbols with flaming pearls, surrounded by bats and flower motifs, with gold thread embroidered dragon sleeve bands, the robe edged at the sides, base and neck with a finer silk embroidery border, lined in bright blue silk shantung, length 120cm. Condition - the robe appears to have never been worn or used, the colours are strong, the fabric of the robe good and lining good. The fine braiding and side embroidered panels maybe 19th century, possibly used from another garment and have very faint wear marks and discolouring.
