Condition:
Glass font not cracked but interior thickly-stained with oil; embossed brass label states Jones & Willis Hesperus Star Lamp, (1878 Patent); only two of the triplex wick adjusters connecting with it’s wick; one adjuster marked Hesperus Burner; engraved brass pedestal tarnished but good; a small oval bruise to the black glass plinth at rim, approx. 8x6mm. Glass shade good. One of the brass catches (needed to screw-secure the burner) needs glue to stablise it. Opening at the top of the glass fuel reservoir is 5cm. There is no obvious evidence of any missing clips to the collar of the reservoir.
