Condition:
Has been the subject of a restoration project: professionally cleaned and re-lined; reverse has been curiously covered with a black fabric that conceals the condition of the canvas, which seems tight. Frame recently glued at corners. We have inspected the canvas under a uv light, there are areas of overpainting. We are of the opinion the work is is Edwardian. Please refer to the further online images. The cloth is not stuck to the reverse of the canvas, however, we are unable to remove the canvas from its frame to inspect.
