Condition:
Chest one rear foot detached, as shown; one front foot side veneer missing; veneers are convincing but this chest is mid to late 20th century with all secondary timbers fairly fresh. (The chest has no link to York Minster). Bookslide inscribed in pen beneath, “A relic of York Minster. From Thos. Nettleship, 4 Blake of York”. Underside with three feet missing; one of the folding ends with an old split. Appears late 19th century; not Betjeman.
