Condition:
Boths oils on the original canvases, St Benet has a dented tear just behind the horse's tail, but otherwise is in good condition, inscribed verso St Benet by Bend Or = St Mary, further inscribed painted from life at Eaton Hall, Chester; Rydal Head inscribed verso 'His Grace The Duke of Westminster's Rydal Head by St Frusquin-Rydal', housed in matching gilt gesso laurel bordered frames which remain in good order. Rydal Head finished 1st in The Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot in 1904 and 5th in the Alexandra Plate at Royal Ascot in 1905.
