Condition:
Watercolour on buff paper in good untouched condition, possibly some slight fading but colours still remain strong, pin holes in the corners, some scuffing to surface in the centre of the picture and a slight crease middle left. The artist has used a brown wash for the background. Later washline titled mount with various letters and details of the work verso, thought to be the original watercolour for the lithograph published by Dickinson & Co, and sold with a related lithograph 'The Battle of Chillianwalah'.
