A Victorian mahogany cased field surgeon's set by Salt & Son of Bull Lane, London, the brass bound mahogany case housing saws, scalpels, trepanning saws and other instruments, looking to be fully complete, 41 x 22cm, 7.5cm high

Condition:
Overall in very good clean condition, some signs of old dents and scuffs to the outer case along with some water staining but overall it is of a good rich colour and the brass work is good, comes with the original working key, internally housing large saw and smaller saw, and a double ended pick inside the lid, top tray housing two trepanning saws, ebony handle, steel double ended pick and six other instruments, main base housing tourniquet device, three main surgical knives and sixteen other assorted instruments, internally lined in red velvet which show some wear and may be original sides of the interior of the lid with what looks certainly to be original pink leathered paper.
