A Sheraton Revival ladies 'bonheur de jour', with cylinder front, decorated with muses, ribbons and flowers, the upper superstructure with central door and four short drawers over a mechanical action cylinder enclosing fitted interior and a lower drawer, on turned tapered legs, W.2ft 9in. D.1ft 6in. H.5ft 4in.

Overall in good untouched condition, dark rich treacle tone to the satinwood and slightly dull finish to the paint work, central door has key to working lock and encloses a single shelf, handles are turned ivory - some have minor hairline cracking, the cylinder action is very stiff and does open but reluctantly so, no key present for lock, interior good, central door has working key as does the lower drawer. Fine but stable craquelure running through the painted panels, slight scuff marks to the cylinder with one small lost piece to the crossbanding near the top right side, a fine 7 inch hairline crack running through the cylinder from the left side, small chips around the keyhole on the cylinder, other very minor small nicks and flaws scattered throughout, leather looks original with some light scuffing, three crescent shaped dents near the lockplate and two scuff lines from where it draws in and out near the central cupboard, height to writing surface 30.25 inches.
