A 19th century Chinese hongmu altar table, with moulded frieze, legs interspaced with fret work panels and block feet, W.7ft 8in. D.1ft 1in. H.3ft 3.5in.

Of a very dark tone almost blackish in places but with lighter wood showing through where polished, fine surface scuffs and scratches commensurate with age, some splits and cracks showing through the frieze, worm damage and old repair to the bottom of the front right foot, block feet may be later replacements.
