A Japanese bronze figure of a Samurai, Meiji period, total height 28cm

A Japanese bronze figure of a Samurai, Meiji period, the figure holding a lantern in his left hand and a spear in his right, two character engraved signature to a tablet on his right leg, on a wood plinth, total height 28cm
Estimate £500-700

The figure has a spear which is currently loose and it should fit into his right hand pointing downward, there is remnants of glue or tape around the centre of the pole where it keeps sliding out, the lantern in his left hand is a seperate piece that slots into position and the rest of the figure is in reasonable condition, his eyes have silver inlay as is possibly the tablet with the two character signature on his right leg, the wood stand is missing the feet and lower section and one side section is a replacement piece in pine but it does have the original screw and nut fixings underneath, otherwise in reasonable condition.
