A pair of Chinese famille rose globular jars and covers, late 19th century, each finely painted with chrysanthemums, peonies and other flowers, height 21.5cm, slight firing faults

The first jar has two manufacturing firing cracks to the inner collar of the neck, both of which have extended into feint hairline cracks just into the shoulder, the cover has a small splinter chip on the inside edge, not visible when it is put on, and some fritting / glaze flakes to the outside top edge, the second jar has again some fritting / glaze flakes to the very edge of the top of the cover, otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks.
