A fine pair of George III French Hepplewhite mahogany card tables, with serpentine folding tops, urn carved friezes, on anthemion carved and cabriole legs, Norman Adams label to the underside, W.3ft 1in. D.1ft 6in. H.2ft 4.5in.

Both tables of good rich dark mahogany colour, first table with light surface scuffing and ring marks, one or two old dents and a 2 inch crack running in on the right hand side, internal baize is fairly recent, some slight separation and cracking running around the edge moulding. Right hand side looks a little sunbleached or rubbed, otherwise the underside is of a good even dark tone, carving of paterae and anthemion motifs rubbed from use over the years, as are the feet.
Second table with a few old scratch marks and more recent light surface scuffing, baize matches the other, less sign of splitting around the edge moulding, similar good rich colour to the underframes, slight lifting of the thick veneers to the back horizontal strut for the swing out leg, labels to the back stretchers Antique Furniture from Norman Adams Ltd, 8 - 10 Hans Road, London SW3.
