A Japanese Satsuma 'kikumon' deep bowl, Meiji period, decorated to the interior in gosu blue and enamels with a kikumon, the exterior in iron-red with kikumon amid scrolling leaves, unmarked, height 15.5cm, diameter 23.5cm, restored rim chip

There is some slight staining to the crazing of the glaze on the interior particularly in the very bottom with also some slight wear to the gilding in that area, some occasional scratches and scuffs to the interior, there is a restored small section to the interior of the rim and also a restored chip to the exterior which has been very well done.
