Namikawa Yasuyuki. A small Japanese cloisonne enamel bottle vase, Meiji period, finely worked in gold and silver wire with butterflies and flowers on a blue ground, the neck and base with floral lozenges (hanabishi), signed on a silver tablet 'Kyoto Namikawa', gilt rims, 9.3cm, damage to one side

Relative to the size of the vase a large loss to the blue enamel ground on one side with one butterfly wing missing with some fine hairline cracks extending across the blue enamel away from the loss, the gilt metal foot has come away slightly at the base with a gap between the enamel and the foot with minute losses to the enamel on the very bottom border, otherwise wear to the gilding on the rims, but no other damage detached, please see photographs of loss of enamel to one side.
