William Taylor of Whitehaven. A George III mahogany eight day longcase clock, the 12 inch arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring housing the date, painted moonphase and painted aperture for flowing and ebbing tide, two train movement with anchor escapement, in a fine quality mahogany case, H.7ft 7in.

A handsome clock that has comes from a local deceased estate, case is of good rich colour but now looking a bit grubby and could do we a clean and buff up, top right swans neck of the hood has some cracking, perhaps old repairs and slight reconstruction to the dentil work, hood door lacks an escutcheon and key, dial looks to be original but now heavily oxidised, paint work to moonphase possibly retouched, paint work to the high water low water looks original , trunk door key is erratic in operation, movement rather dark and dirty but going and looks to have been overhauled some years ago but now rather dusty, comes with pendulum and two iron weights. Tide indicator shows high water and low water with the inscription below showing flowing / ebbing.
