A pair of 19th century Italian carved and painted parcel gilt wall scones, each modelled as a winged cherub with scrolling cartouche backplates, 20in.

One sconce has an area of the fruit decorated border around the circular sconce missing also the shell carved part of the cartouche back is missing, there are other minor losses and wear to the gilt painted decoration, also a repair around the wings and numerous other repaired areas.
The other sconce is more complete but looks like an area of restoration along the leaf branch, there is evidence of old worm damage and other numerous areas of paint loss particularly to some of the gilded areas, one of the wings appears to be restored.
Overall both sconces have numerous losses, areas of restoration and repainting and are generally in average condition.
Length 20 inches from cartouche back to the front of the cherub sconce.
