Oil on original canvas in untouched condition, paint looks a little dirty and may benefit from a clean, a few fine but stable lines of craquelure running through the work, notably a little star crazing just below 12 o'clock and some fine lines running in the base of the screen to the right of the sitter. Other further fine lines of craquelure scattered elsewhere but no signs of any flaking or paint loss. Signed lower left, in a modern moulded gilt frame which is in fair order but for a few small dents and scratches. Name of sitter is inscribed on the reverse, presumed to have been commissioned by FRIBA or the Architects Practice.
