A Japanese ivory box and cover, Meiji period the tusk section finely carved in relief with a bat, various insects and a snail and a slug, in rocky landscapes, two character signature to a shaped reserve, on three cloud scroll feet, the base engraved with flowers, 6.5cm

The finial has invisible filled hole to one side, possibly where there was formerly an object applied there, the base of the box has visible age cracks from the interior which on the underside has engraved decoration of a grass and flowers disguising them, otherwise good condition.
