A Chelsea Hans Sloane botanical plate, c.1758, painted with butterflies and insects amidst three large green leaves and a turquoise bud, all within a brown edged lobed rim, brown anchor mark, 23cm

A number of cracks from the rim extending into the centre of the plate and does not ring true, there is crazing to the glaze all over on the front and back, there is a 27mm x 8mm rim chip with part of the butterfly's left wing tip lacking at this point, there is a light bit of flaking to the green leaves.
