An Edwardian silver two handled vase shaped tea urn, by Daniel & John Welby, engraved with the Faulkner family crest, with embossed floral scroll border, ivory spigot, on beaded square base, all four scroll bracket feet, London, 1905, height 44 cm, gross weight 144oz.
Given in 1906 as a wedding present to Dr lion Faulkner and he married Miss Ethel de Sausmarez of Sausmarez Manor, Guernsey. Dr Faulkner himself worked around 1900 in the Western Fever Hospital in London, then between 1901 and 1903 is an east Africa, as assistant medical officer on the railway line on the construction from Mombasa to Uganda.
