A Chinese blue and white hexagonal box and cover, made for the Islamic Market, possibly Ming dynasty, the cover with central Islamic script roundel surrounded by ruyi head and triangular shaped motifs, the sides with further Islamic script inscriptions within diamond shaped reserves amid ruyi shaped clouds, the underside with six character mark ‘Da Ming Zhengde Nianzhi’, 18cm wide, tiny rim chip

Condition:
Typical glaze imperfections. A small and old chip visible to the inner rim of the base which shows some signs of use (discoloured cracking to the glaze) to the interior. No other damage or restoration found.
