A Chinese soapstone and mother-of-pearl inlaid hardwood brushpot, possibly zitan, decorated with a farmer with elephant being greeted by an official, central plug hole to base, 14cm high, 14.5cm diameter, age cracks

Condition:
There are numerous age cracks to the wood and it’s likely that some sections of the inlay have been re-glued into position. There are some losses to the base around the central plug hole commensurate with age.
