A Chinese Transitional blue and white brushpot, bitong, Chongzhen period (1627-44), finely painted with a soldier carrying a large vase of pole arms, an official standing before him in a walled garden, the upper border incised with leaves and scrolls, the lower border with crosshatching, 15.8cm high, minor faults

Condition:
The rim has been ground off and reduced in height with several tiny splinter chips to the edge, the glaze is heavily scratched all over with some grubbiness within the scratches which could be removed, some slight blurriness to the underglaze blue decoration in places, otherwise in reasonable condition.
