A wide mahogany framed sampler by Ann Whitehouse dated 1834, worked in coloured silks on a fine linen ground, in small stitches, bordered with a geometric stylistic vining pattern, set with a central verse, above her name and date, the sampler also embroidered with spot floral motifs, 31.5cm wide x 41cm high. Condition - the verse has a dark patch, there are other patches, the colours have faded in sunlight but stitching and background are undamaged or holed. The frame is good the slip has gilt missing.
