A large framed cross stitch sampler, by Helen Rae, dated 1851, worked mostly in red and green, with an ornate floral border around alphabet letters and numerals, large button hole letters and motifs, with a large central motif of a house, her mother and father by large floral pots, her name and date below, 40cm wide x 54cm high. Condition - some staining from the backing, a few colours have faded with sunlight but most are strong, the linen and stitches are undamaged. The frame appears in good order.
