Condition:
Re-touch against the clouded sky above the shoulder of the boy on the viewer’s right and possibly two further re-touches at the same boy’s left foot and against the leaves of the tree, top centre. Five very small flakes to the oil, two affecting the other boy’s outfit, one at left edge, alongside base of boy’s walking can, another alongside his upper arm; the other beneath his right-hand fingers. Further very small flakes at right-hand boy’s right foot and lower left corner; all flakes small. Craquelure as described but generally honest. Reverse side no issues. Frame with flakes to gilt-gesso all around. Provenance: privately entered, having been owned by their family for at least three generations.
