An early 20th century cello for restoration, indistinct internal label; ‘Restored by William J. Acton, Green Street, Forest Gate, London 1910’ length of body 72cm. There are cracks to the soundboard, the sound post is detached and there are other chips and damage. No obvious evidence of woodworm is present. The length of the fingerboard is 56.7cm, The stop length is 38.5cm and the sounding string length is approximately 67cm. Full length is approximately 120cm.

There are cracks to the soundboard, the sound post is detached and there is other chips and damage. Backboard with repaired section at one upper bout, see image; back appears to have been constructed in three sections; back with numerous scratches and small chips around edge; some small inlaid sections missing. No obvious evidence of woodworm is present. The length of the fingerboard is 56.7cm, The stop length is 38.5cm and the sounding string length is approximately 67cm. Full length is approximately 120cm. Bottom edge of pegbox to top edge of main body 284mm.
