A George III engraved silver ova tea caddy, by Thomas Daniell, decorated with garlands and two oval cartouches, one with entwined hearts, London, 1779, width 12.4cm, 12.9oz, no key.

Condition:
Small dent to the front either side of the key hole. Another dent to the side. There appears to be an old repair around the whole circumference of the vacant cartouche (visible on the interior). Some mild wear to the decoration in places and minor surface scratches in places, all commensurate with age and some use. Mild tarnishing in places. Hallmarks clear on base. Maker's mark rubbed on the hinged cover. Finial not hallmarked. Width as stated. Height without knop 95mm, with knop 11.4cm.
