William de Morgan (1839-1917), a double tile ‘bird’ panel, Merton Abbey period (1882-1888), painted with blackbirds amid yellow flowers and green foliage, on a cream ground, impressed Merton Abbey DM marks to both tiles, total size 41cm x 20.5cm, in an oak frame

Condition:
Both tiles with very slight fritting around the edges but essentially good condition, some crazing in the glaze with old firing cracks, the upper most tile with some slight chipping lower right side, loosely set into the oak frame.
