Oil on original canvas which remains fairly tight, has been professionally cleaned relatively recently but a dark bitumous bubbling and craquelure remains outlining the sitter, with further bitumous bubbling scattered elsewhere, apparently unsigned, housed in what looks to be the original gilt gesso frame which is rather tatty, no labels or inscriptions verso.
