A Chinese huanghuali and hongmu low stand, 19th century, the rectangular framed panel top above a pierced frieze with archaistic scrolls above blind key fret, on four moulded square legs, 76cm wide, 39cm deep, 42cm high, repairs and possible alterations

Condition:
There is an inserted strip of new timber to the panel of the top. The legs are a little loose at the joints and the moulding which curves around from the apron to the leg doesn’t lineup indicating that the table may have been reduced in size. There is evidence of former spandrels to each side of the legs which do not lineup with any markings on the frieze.
